I will admit that on our first big family trip, we drove simply because it was too expensive to fly with a family of five and because the children were small, I looked for things to do along the way so they could have much needed breaks from the car. BUT, I am so glad I did! The trip to and from our destination, which happened to be Florida, was a blast!

Memories Last, Stuff Doesn’t…

I think we all know the truth of it, but somehow keeping up with the neighbors or co-workers in our accumulation of “stuff” still tends to win out when it comes down to where we spend our money. Some may argue that you make memories with the “stuff” and while that may be true some of the time depending on what the “stuff” happens to be, in my experience and what I’ve learned from the people I’ve talked to, it isn’t often the case, even if it was the intent.

What Have You Been Missing?

In a world where everyone knows what everyone else had for lunch and what series they just binge watched, I thought I’d share a little about myself.

I’ve been taking road trips since I was a kid and I’ve loved them from the beginning. Trips from my hometown in northern Michigan to Arizona, Florida, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, California, as I got older, trips to Virginia, Massachusetts, Washington D.C. , Maine and Canada and from Virginia to North Carolina during my short time living there. I’ve been privileged to see much of what this amazing country has to offer.
